VIRGINIA MAY, MFA, is an artist, curator and collector of contemporary Australian Aboriginal art. She graduated from Queensland Institute of Technology with an MA in Visual Art in 2005. It was at this time that she began viewing and collecting contemporary Aboriginal art, an art movement that began in the 1970's, with the introduction of modern acrylics and canvas to the remote outback areas of the Northern Terrritory in Australia. She is currently a doctoral student at CIIS, researching the transformative power of art.
