I cant draw a straight line, but doodled
incessantly during class. In 1979 photographer Ray Metzker,
head of the photography department at University of the Arts
at the time, respectfully pointed out that my photographs
were more drawing than they were photos. Sure enough I had
been drawing on the photos. Sketching with ink, pencil and
pastel has become more than doodling: like painting it is
a medium for intuitive stream of consciousness. My old friend
Victor Mullen was right when he said,All it takes is
practice.
